Having lived in NYC I have such an appreciation for small spaces and functional design. The one thing that stresses me out the most with NYC studio living is when you have guests come over and they immediately use your bed at a couch, which is so freaking gross because (think about it) they are sitting on the subways where homeless people have passed out and/or peed and where college kids have barfed and/or peed (guilty as charged). So they have all these germs on their butts and they sit on your bed where you put your FACE! SICK!!!
I digress…. when you live in a studio you have to think of creative ways of splitting up your hanging out area and your sleeping area. Removable walls (I think costs about $300 to install) are a great idea for the long term, or drapes are good for the short term rentals.
I know after this post my NYC followers are going to freak out on their friends when they sit on their bed. Sorry!
